DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 64

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

4/11 but I called last week as I had 2 letters one said 11 weeks and the other said 15 weeks, the lady I spoke to said there currently taking 20 weeks so I should hear something mid march 🤞🏼
hope yours doesn’t take too long x

I’m on week 21, I phoned this morning and was told it would be escalated due to time frame, I’ve just phoned back now to make sure they had escalated it. Woman I spoke to was so rude, she basically told me to stop
phoning I’ll find out when I find out, there’s a 25 week wait plus Christmas weeks on top of that, I told her she was rude and completely
missed the point of my call, she then checked and said it had been escalated but doesn’t mean anything 😂🫠😩 loosing my mind waiting.

Shellbel10 · 10/02/2025 13:50

Hi has anyone heard from renewals

Joanna8412 · 10/02/2025 13:57

How long are COC taking at the minute? Filled in mobility form and had it back 20 weeks before child turned 5 (child already gets hrc) 20 weeks passed and nothing!

I’m on week 21, it’s been escalated today apparently as it’s past the time frame

Hi!

Long time reader and first time commenting. I've just rang DLA to see whether they need any new information since sending off our initial application. (More appointments - explorations of different forms of epilepsy) and when I ring, the auto message says 'you will receive a letter between now and the end of March about the benefit you are entitled to' Does this mean that they've awarded DLA or is this standard for everyone? When I've rung in the past, I'm sure it's never said that before.

Thank you! :)

Riiiiiight · 10/02/2025 14:16

@KH94
That is strange, do you remember what options you pressed?
What's your scan date?

Joanna8412 · 10/02/2025 14:20

@JL1990 thanks... may give it another week then and see if they will do the same...

@KH94 i got the same message... only pressed option to speak to someone in english & then got that message presume they've changed the voice message in general.

I just rang the DLA number on the GOV website, this was before I had even pressed for option 4 like everyone in the threads suggests to do. I'm just a bit confused as I haven't seen anyone else mention it so wondering if it's a glitch or something 😅. Scan date is 2/10

COC are taking up to 25 weeks so are MRs. Renewals are done either right before they expire or within 25 weeks.

New claims are taking around 18-22 weeks.

Oh I don't know then but with your scan date, if a new claim, then yours could likely be being looked at or very near to being looked at. Good luck!

Yes, it's a new claim :) Fingers crossed, I'm waiting on hold to speak to someone anyway just to double check about sending in more information so hopefully will get told where about we are in the queue and if the auto message is accurate :)

Hi the same thing just happened to me. If you stay on the line after that message it will then take you to the “normal” options. My guess is they have added that on to try and sway people from calling for an update 🙄

MistandFog2024 · 10/02/2025 15:24

@Gmam1994 my older child also gets dla and it’s been renewed a couple of times and we’ve always had the back pay first. Letter seems like it takes about 10-14 days to arrive.

I think it means they have made a decision. I received back payment on Saturday and this morning I called to find out my original scan date and I had that message too and I had been awarded
