Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Unfortunately MR are taking the longest to process they are still in September and you probably have 2-4 weeks left. Average outcome is most likely around 22 weeks at the moment.

Am 22 weeks mr been with dm since last Monday still no discussion this morning done mr 18/9 first claim done 14/3 2024

gezelligheid · 20/02/2025 11:00

I received this from one of my son's group leaders last night. Would this be okay to send as evidence for DLA?

I have two new claims one 15/11 and the other 31/12 so a long way off for second one for my daughter. However seeing some being awarded end of October is reassuring as hopefully it means we will receive a decision soon for my youngest!

Congrats on the new awards and good luck to all those waiting I pray your child gets the award they deserve!

I sent my daughters IEP from nursery yesterday recorded delivery so just hope they gey it in time when looking at her claim 🙏

gezelligheid · 20/02/2025 11:02

I also have a lot of other professional reports from SALT, OT, sleep clinics etc, so this is just an "extra" thing rather than my only evidence

Glitzxx · 20/02/2025 12:17

Hoping this is my lad thread tbh

ClearAutumn · 20/02/2025 12:26

NC 15/12

Congratulations for those that have got their awards or money in the bank! Just wanted to say that. I had no idea I’d have to wait 6 months… how can we as a society say we are looking after he most vulnerable when we let disabilities be so poorly provided for.

Eeeek I’ve just called them and my daughters claim is now with a DM 🤞🏻
scan date 30/10
this process is so long!
I am praying she gets awarded!!

Oh wow good luck! My scan date is 2 days after yours so I'm hopeful to hear something soon seeing these late October decisions or at least being with DM. I know they didn't go exactly in order of scan date and they can be with decision maker for weeks but still it is promising to see they are moving in the direction of early November.
I hope your child gets awarded and please let us know own if you hear anything x

Hi, I would send it as it's evidence from another person, who is education based. It may help the decision maker who then may not have to call any school setting etc.

NC 12/11 still waiting, called monday got the 25wk talk

Same NC SD as me

Stacey220786 · 20/02/2025 13:53

Now I know it’s with a decision maker I just want to know the outcome! 😩
I’ve seen so many posts saying people have been declined it’s making me worry I’ve not put enough on the forms!
I know in my heart of hearts my daughter should be entitled based on her care needs.
her Autisim adhd, emotional dysregulation & sensory processing difficulties only seem to be getting worse as she’s getting older and now mixed with hormones!
im a single parent and battling it all on my own too
please don’t take long decision maker 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Hopefully wont be too much longer

PositivityRipples · 20/02/2025 14:25

@KCJ1984 It depends on what you've wrote on the forms and what rate you're expecting or think your child is entitled to.. Does that document from school support what you've tried to get across in the claim form and does it support what you've said?

TiredB33 · 20/02/2025 14:44

So I called first thing and got through at 9:03 and requested the DM call me back. She did about 10:30 and she was asking about my son's night needs.

I called again just now to be a bit cheeky to see if a decision has been made. The advisor said the DM is still working on it and requested a text so i don't have to call back 😂 lol.

little does she know I will be calling back tomorrow

NC SD 08/10

KCJ1984 · 20/02/2025 14:44

@PositivityRipples well it doesn't actually fully support what I or the school have said as it appears its my son that's answered some of that. For example 'I can get on well with peers at break and lunch times'. That's not what he comes home saying to me and also keeps him up at night as he's crying that nobody wants to play with him during break times as he's 'different' - so heartbreaking!! Also 'when discussed, I can regulate my emotions well', unfortunately that's not true and he really struggles

PositivityRipples · 20/02/2025 15:14

@KCJ1984 I thought so but thought I'd ask first to make sure... Do not send that to dla.. As you've said it states the child, can do work to a high standard, get on well with peers.. Cognition and learning - working at age, which comes across that cognitive functions is age level, and learning to age level.. social and emotional - can regulate emotions well when discussed and a few other bits that could be interpreted in the wrong way.
Only ever send evidence that supports what youve said on the forms and if you have other evidence that's in support then no reasons to include this. Yes it's an ISP which shows child is receiving sen support but if it doesn't support your claim do not send it...
Also where it says external agencies involved it's been left blank by the school.

If you've sent other evidence to show sen support or needs, care, support, diagnosis or investigation into diagnosis or needs then i personally would not send it.
But you should also get advise off others and read over it yourself and make your own decision my advice is merely to make you think " does this show my child's needs and is it a good representation of how my child is and does it highlight and support what I've said in my claim"
🫶

KCJ1984 · 20/02/2025 15:25

@PositivityRipples thank you for your reply. I'm not going to send, it really isn't supporting what I and the school have said. Recently he's been receiving ELSA classes (not his first time) which the school senco teacher put him forward for due to him not being able to manage emotions. I will now just wait and see. Thanks again 😊

Am waiting mine been with dm for over a week 2 weeks Monday it’s really bad

Nads2210 · 20/02/2025 15:51

NC SD 30/10
Gave in & rang today no update, Asked about holding que nada, The call handler & I were in debates about my DDs scan date!
She was adamant it was 4/11 & I was 100% it's 30/10 lol
In the end she apologised & said the comp was hiding the date 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣 Got to laugh haven't you
Oh ofcourse got the lovely 25weeks chat..in one ear out the other
Congrats to everyone who has been awarded & good luck to the rest of us!✨

PositivityRipples · 20/02/2025 15:54

@KCJ1984 Sounds like you've already sent evidence to support what you've put in the claim form and if you've told them that school senco referred for ELSA support then that's evidence of sen need and support and emotion dysregulation help if you haven't sent that evidence then send that if you can for ELSA ... The ISP is kinda contradicting to that isn't it.
Good luck keep us all posted 🤞🏼

KCJ1984 · 20/02/2025 16:07

@PositivityRipples I hadn't sent any info on school pitting him through the second lot of ELSA sessions so will speak with the schools senco teacher on Monday and see if there's something he can give me to back this up and I can send on. Will keep you all updated.
I did chase DLA today, got through to a lady that noted my scan date was incorrect, they had 5th Oct and should have been 5th November. She said she'd change, I said, it's OK, no need and she said no no, needs be done properly 🙈😅

PositivityRipples · 20/02/2025 16:18

@KCJ1984 😂 yeah i would have been the same and said don't change it 😑😂
If you can get something from school to state about ELSA if not call and ask them to note the claim that child has been put forward for ELSA support and sessions by senco just so they have a note of that extra support 💯📝

Lulu444 · 20/02/2025 16:43

Hi all,
Sent renewal on 13th Feb, Due to end in May. Son has severe adhd, Tourette’s and ocd. Currently receives HRC LRM but want to push for HRM this time so will go to MR if we need too.

Justanotherlove · 20/02/2025 16:48

@Lulu444 at what route do you think you will be successful for, for hrm,?

Lulu444 · 20/02/2025 16:51

My son’s needs are extremely high, I can upload some documents I’ve sent with his renewal to see what you think? I realise that’s it’s extremely hard to get HRC with my sons diagnosis’s but I’ve never seen any other child with needs as high as his with adhd if that makes sense x
