DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 64

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@LT1233 I’ve just rang up to check they received my renewal and all the evidence and I was scared it would get lost. I did only send it off on Monday!
He said, I can see they have received it and they have infact receipted it and a letter is on the way to you to confirm. I really don’t know what that means, maybe it just means it’s a letter to say they have received it? The renewal isn’t due until mid June. Just glad they’ve got everything xx

I've just found out our family dog is going to have to be put down, we have 2 weeks left with him, I am in bits, the fall out at home this is going to cause is going to be huge :( so I won't post for a while but I hope your children all get the positive outcomes they need. All the best x

So sorry to hear that :( all the best x

That's good to hear, not sure why they can't send a text but whatever! I'm in the same position, award runs out 10th June. I really didn't have the energy to rewrite the entire form again this time so I kept this one brief and mostly wrote about 1 extra issue, but now I'm worrying I might have left it too brief considering the masses of info I wrote on the previous 2 applications (which resulted in HRC/LRM) Oh well, we shall see!

PositivityRipples · 13/02/2025 11:42

@Riiiiiight Aww really sorry to hear that, sending prayers and love and light 💫

Senmummy1234 · 13/02/2025 13:01

My sons Renewal date is June also sent forms off yesterday, but found lots of emails from the school, got his dads piece on all about me and I should also have his full autism assessment via email the end of the week, so you think I have time still to add this all to it.

No and tbh I didn’t ask I’ll wait for the letter and mr it is x

DR19 · 13/02/2025 17:11

SD 8/10 new claim- called earlier today and it’s with a case manager, anyone know how quickly claims are processed once with them? Is this the final decision or does it then go to a decision maker? X

Newnee · 13/02/2025 18:53

Hiya so I have 2 claims sent off on the same day (for two of my daughters) and same scan date 21/10

claim 1 - 8 year old adhd pathway
claim 2 - 4 year old asd pathway

rang at week 15 and was told to wait ect

rang this evening because my 4 year old has some new evidence I think could help from parents evening yesterday (school plans ect)
her claim in in a holding que and was told a few more weeks

but when asking security questions, I was asked “ what other benifits do you receive aswel as dla” I didn’t question this and just answered but now I’m wondering,

is this just because I’ve applied or is it possible my 8 year old has been awarded… I didn’t check on her claim due to being my told to wait last week and just wanted to see if it’s okay to send more evidence for my 4 year old

sorry it’s long I’m probably just over thinking his words, many thanks

Rh21 · 13/02/2025 23:10

I have been following the thread for a few weeks now but first time posting..
NC scan date 9/10 called last week (5th feb) to see if additional evidence at been received asked if claim had been looked at, the person who I spoke to said no it hadn’t and then gave me the 25 week wait talk.
I have just received a call at 4.56pm this evening to ask why my form had been received late. I did send it back with 4 days remaining but I wasn’t about to start arguing. The lady said I would receive a letter and funds in my account in 5 working days. I did ask does that mean my claim has been successful? In which she replied yes, I then asked if she could please tell which rate.. MRC / LRM told me there and then. She did say that unfortunately due to the form being received late it would only be back dated to my scan date. So so pleased!! I got rather chocked and nearly ended up crying down the phone 😭. This will help my daughter so much.

s39 · 13/02/2025 23:22

@PositivityRipples hi I was just wondering if you knew if carers element is something you can apply for LRC or is just Mrc/hrc?
tia x

PositivityRipples · 13/02/2025 23:41

@s39 Hello, you can only get the carer element of UC for MRC or HRC. Xx

1tiredmam · 14/02/2025 00:26

Hi all, I rang on Monday due to my change of circumstances reaching around 20weeks (scan date 23/09) to be told I should hear "very very soon" and to ring friday if i havnt heard anything, to ring up again today due to having more evidence and to be told at least next month. I wasn't informed that I could apply for mobility when my daughter turned 3. But they should have sent me a form before that but didn't. And my hrc is up in August so I would need to do a renewal anyway. So Ive done the whole form again. Anybody else waiting for change of circumstances around this date?

Hi, my coc scan date was 16th September I think and I still haven’t heard anything! I’m going to ring in the morning as my award actually ends this weekend and I’m also awaiting results for the renewal!

Awarded 13/2 text received to say 3yo qualifies, called and she has been awarded mrc until sept 2026
she has suspected asd
evidence sent was
IEP
SALT reports
and her referral to the neurodevelopment pathway and acceptance
I’ve followed quietly for a while so I hope this helps someone x

SunnyPinkUser · 14/02/2025 08:09

Original N/C 28/6 rejected no reasons given. M/R scan date 17th September, called and advised still 25 weeks. Currently in a holding cue est. 13th March until looked at.

Congratulations on getting what your daughter deserves. This is reassuring, as my daughter is also 3 and i sent similar evidence. Minus the “Iep” but i did send a care plan from the nursery she only just started in January. Along with Salt report, portage supporting letter, and Asd pathway acceptance letter. She also has an eye problem, which her portage worker suggested i put down which i did along with all her reports from moorfields which also state she will not co operate with any tests etc she needs doing. I have hope!

Congrats I'm so happy your child has received the support she deserves . By you NC it puts my date of 29/10 about 3-4 weeks to hear an outcome . Hopefully not too much longer .

My son is 4 start of March .
On the autism pathway and is non verbal

I sent

Autism pathway acceptance letter which states he already receives speech and language therapy also.
And a letter from his nursery teacher outlining his needs etc .

I also gave them the phone numbers for speech and language and portage incase they wanted to contact them .

Just hope I've given enough !

Sd 2/10/24 new claim. Still waiting, but seen lots of people around the same time hearing back, so hopefully not too much longer 🤞

Don't know why it's taking so long. You would think these ones would be easier than a new claim.
