Should I complain to school?

DS went into school on Tues. School rang at 3.40pm to say that he had ver bad diarrohea and were sending him home instead of to respite. He arrived home at 4pm as right as rain.

Sent him in to school on Weds after no sign of diarrohea and having eaten normally. School sent him home immediately as he has to be at home for 48 hrs after last loose motion (at that rate, he'll be home for the rest of his school life!)

I asked when this diarrohea incident had occured and was told 12.30 Tues lunchtime! and it was 'running down' his legs! They kept him out on a fiewld visit for the rest of the day, although they said he was lethorgic and didn't want to eat or drink! and it's really strange how his clothes weren't even marked when he came home at 4pm.

School have said that as they have very vulnerable children in the unit, he has to stay off. In the last three weeks, he has managed 4 complete days at school and as far as I can see, he is getting all his colds and bugs FROM school.

Should I write?

Yes. As if his clothes weren't stained at all you really have to doubt that this bout of diarrhoea ever occurred!

Oh this used to drive me mad - we had the same problem (2 days off school for each soiling accident) with ms school when ds was not toilet reliable.
Does ds suffer constipation? I ask because one can cause the other without bugs being involved. However if his clothes showed no evidence and there is no other history it does make you wonder if they mixed the kids up! Agree query it with them!

DS does have a history of loose bowels, a lot of autistic kids seem too.

You know when they have had an accident, they seem to smell of it for ages, even when you've cleaned every last scrap and that was another thing, hardly any wipes gone and we usually count how bad a poo is by the number of wipes i.e. a 'six wiper' or even a '12 wiper'!

They seem to be short staffed atm, but that is not an excuse.

Have bought Aloe Vera juice, acidophilus capsules and manuka honey to see if we can 'pull' things together.

Will compose a letter this evening and I will ask that he not be taken out on social visits again.
