Hi all
My son has been taking meflynate xl 10mg for 1 month (he's is 6 and about 20kg so starting low).
I've seen an amazing change but school have been reporting he's a bit "zombie" ish in the mornings and doesn't wake up until lunch.
He's not sleeping much where he was loads before so that is a big factor. The dr wants to give it more time and he's not keen to start melatonin etc until DS has settled in.
His weekend sports coach finds him not at all spaced out but really engaged. But I suppose that's his hobby so easier to concentrate on what you like!
Has anyone experienced similar? I'm not sure it's possible to even go on a lower dose.
I don't find him spaced out at home unless he's had a really late night, but I have seen it when he's not slept well. So hard to know what's the drug and what is him just losing 2.5 hrs sleep per night for a month.
We had other side affects but they have mostly abated. His academic progress has improved in some areas but in others they feel he's forgetting things (like punctuation) that he usually knows. I think maybe he's more focused but also more foggy iykwim?
The fidgets/hyper things have all completely gone which is great.
Thanks!
