Potential ADHD - is it our fault?

My DS5 has potentially got ADHD.

our main concern at the minute is that he is being disruptive at school to get attention from his teacher, whether that be negative or positive.

After a difficult year in reception, he’s been absolutely fine since starting Yr1 in September but these issues started again a few weeks ago.

he forms a secure bond with his teacher and then constantly wants her attention. School are looking at ways to help/support him as they obviously can’t have him being disruptive

but what can we do at home to help? Is it because we’ve always given him so much attention at home, he now needs it in any environment? Should we be making changes at home to make him not need attention as much?!

sorry if this makes no sense. I just want to do all I can to help him
