Lateness mark for transport

Hi I’m just wondering what the rules are for registration for sen children being picked up via la transport please?

my daughter goes to a special school 15 miles away and that first Monday with the horrendous snow she was late in. Her la provided transport got her in eventually through the really snowy conditions but I thought they couldn’t mark her as late as it’s not us that’s made her late?
as far as we’re concerned the transport picked her up at the correct time and that’s not on us.
does anyone know please?

When a child arrives at school late but before the register has closed, the child must be marked as a L.

When a child arrives at school after the register has closed, the child must be marked as a U.

If a child is absent/unable to attend because the transport normally provided is not available, that would be code Y1.

I just thought it made a difference the fact the local authorities have provided the transport. I could have sworn they said it wouldn’t be classed but no big deal I was just interested :)
