Right here we go .baby dad set fire to him self I removed all children away to a safe place and reported him also kicked him out...his other two older kids are not mine so rang there mum to get them home safe ! M.A.S.H ect social services rang me and advised no contact untill he has a mental health assesment ! He isn't willing to do one ! Soo I said no contact and if he would like to he would have to take me to court ....case was closed ! Our son has been showing signs of Autisum since he was 6 months old ! He is know 1 year and 6 months ..heath visitor keeps going on about early support and that this is the only way to get to see a community pediatrics ! But I'm sure then can refer straight to them ! With out early support !
I'm scared of early support as I have a passed I was in an abusive relationship tryed to get help and my kids where taken away this was over 11 years ago ! They didn't treat me nicely at all made me do disability assesment even though I kept telling them I'm an undiagnosed Autisum adult ..but didn't believe me ...# passed the assesment ..wasn't allowed to have a parenting assesment because they felt I didn't have the capacity even though I do !
Passed a parenting course ! 3 times over but wasn't enough ! My eldest child was showing signs of Autisum at an early age but noone would help me even though I kept raising the concern ..when he was taken away he was diagnosed with global developmental delay and echo Layla ...I was diagnosed with same thing as a child but then changed to Autisum ..long storey short I was blamed for my eldest sons development because of my schooling ! Even though I did go to college and do business studies !
But know my youngest is showing signs and I'm scared ...! I also have Autisum took 9 years to get diagnosed

Hi, OP. We can see your thread hasn't had any replies in the Parenting section, so we will move it over to the SN children forum now in the hope that some other MNetters there can offer some support.

I did manage to get an early diagnosis for my son. My health visitor was super helpful. I get the feeling I was lucky to get someone so experienced and determined.

We didn’t do Early Help. I’ve never met a social worker.

I'm not sure how useful my experience is to you as you have very different circumstances.

Best of luck.

Early Help is voluntary. However, the criteria and process for autism assessments vary area to area. In at least one area now, having an Early Help Assessment is one of the criteria that needs to be met before a referral for an autism assessment will be accepted.

If children’s services were going to push for removal purely because of your history, they would have done so before now.
