DLA for second child?

We claim DLA for my 3 year old son he recieves HRC and HRM (He has a genetic condition, autism etc)

My daughter whose just turned two is showing a lot of the same traits, some even more prominent and we've had a health visitor 2 year old check today and has been referred to community paediatrics, speech and language, portage and physiotherapy.

Her needs are probably the same as my sons, some a bit better, others worse however given her age I don't want to put a claim in for her yet (especially as we don't have a diagnosis) however if her behaviour/needs was to continue and she gets a diagnosis - would it be worth gathering the evidence and putting a claim in for her or can you only claim for one child?

I'm just a bit confused with it all and was hoping someone a bit more knowledgeable could help.

Thank you

The claim is for the child and there are many families with more than one disabled child. You don’t need to guess if she should have it. You apply and they assess. So I’d apply and see what the response is.

You can apply for more than one child

You can claim for more than one child. Apply for DLA for DD. You don’t need to wait until you have a diagnosis or until DD is older. You can only get the care component at 2, but it is still worth it.

It takes so long I’d start the process now. I have two and they both receive DLA
