I wonder if anyone can help my DC (9) gets very distressed every time I say a shower and hair wash is needed. They have very long hair so it is not a quick job and today was particularly bad.

I wonder if anyone has experience with this, tops on making wash days easier or even body and hair wash products that are non foaming as this I think might help.

Thanks

Would cutting DC’s hair shorter help?

There are lots of non-foaming shampoos if you have a google. Or what about dry shampoo or rinse free shampoo/no rinse shampoo caps? Aveeno body wash doesn’t lather in the same way as lots of body washes/soaps.

Do you have a bath? Would that be easier?

If you find the answer to making washing painless send them this way.

Thank you, I have suggested cutting hair shorter, but we are not keen on change and the thought of cutting it shorter caused a lot of distress so I gave up.

Used to bath but not keen on that now. Will look at Aveeno. For body.

Is it just hair or is all washing (getting wet?) ?

For many years we washed DCs hair and face before shower whilst watching TV. They also dislike the noises/ echoing in the bathroom.
