DLA question

Hi :) I'm considering applying for DLA for my 4.5 year old. They have speech delay/very limited speech and no diagnosis of autism or anything of that sort but feel that they may have special needs with some behaviours they're presenting. I'm waiting for a report from speech therapy and I understand you need some evidence when applying for DLA or are they more focused on the extra care needed above other children of the same age? I would like my child to have more speech therapy and feel DLA could help with this. Are the DWP likely to reject my application if I only have a speech therapy report to include (I will also go into detail about their other difficulties). I just wondered what others experiences have been? Thank you

Apply and use the Cerebra guide to help you complete the form.

Depending on what the SALT report says, it may be enough. You could also use evidence from nursery/school and GP/HV. If a referral has been made to other professionals, you can also use that.
