Access cards , cea card

Hi , this is a question for sen mom's, I have applied for an access card , a cea card and a sunflower lanyard for my son , we receive dla at the highest rate care , is there any other support I can get ? X

It depends on DC’s needs and what kind of support you mean.

Depending on DC’s needs could look at a blue badge and/or a bus pass.

You could look at a Disabled Facilities Grant if necessary.

You can request social care assessments. Also look at your local short breaks offer.

Depending on your income/DC’s needs/what you need, there's a myriad of charities who can provide grants, e.g. Family Fund, Merlin’s Magic Wand, Roald Dahl marvellous charity.

If in England and you haven’t already, make sure you request an EHCNA.

Oh yes just had a look, my son is on a SSPP plan in school , he will need a EHCP plan in year 2 , he's just turned 5.i will look into merlin wand etc.

An EHCNA is an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment. It is the first thing you request as part of the process to get an EHCP.

If DS needs an EHCP, you should make the request now. No need to wait until Y2.

His Senco is gathering evidence and will submit the forms x

You don’t need to wait for the SENCO. It doesn’t take until Y2 to gather evidence to submit an EHCNA request.
