we have a meeting at dd1's mainstream school on Friday to discuss her EAP ( or IEP) her educational plan. We have had an incident where she had a meltdown ( for her) and was taken to the office to calm down. She told me about the man who told her to sit down and be quiet.

However it is understandable - she had me coming and going, it was cross country day and she ran 400metres - bless her - with her teacher cheering her teacher all the way

then they spring a surprise fire drill on them. So dd1 loses the plot, refuses to sit down so sn teacher 'helps' her sit down by picking her and putting her on the ground. Then asks dd1 to stand up and walk back to the room - cue a meltdown.

Thankfully her own classroom teacher could see that dd1 was over it and it had all been too much for it. She was not bothered by the behaviour but I get the feeling ( rightly or wrongly) that the sn teacher was.

Anyway - principal seems lovely ( am on the parent committee so am getting to know him) and her classroom teacher is fabulous.

I have set out what I want dd1 to work towards in terms of her educational goals for the year - be interesting to see what they say.

Dh is coming too - he no doubt has more questions than I do - which will be interesting.

Anyhoo - after that long message - just wish us luck. Am always nervous about this sort of thing - despite having worked in education myself for more than 10 years prior to having the dds.

GOODLUCK!

Suffice to say it was not what I thought it was and no sure how I feel about it all. Need to do a lot of thinking and processing. Sorry to be cryptic - just iep meeting will be held at a later date.

I was going to say 'good luck' but then realised OP was Weds.
.. hope it all works out. Sounds like dd and her sensible teacher were fab at the cross-country, anyway!
