Hi so my son is almost 4 and on the autism waiting list for assessment,but hes very much autistic,I made a claim for DLA for him in April,we are now at 16 weeks waiting,I rang on Monday to be told it's with the decision maker which can take another 4 weeks,but has anyone been awarded for there young child with autism and what rates did you get thank you in advance

Some people do get DLA for young DC with ASD or suspected ASD. DLA is based on needs rather than diagnosis, so the rate varies depending on the child’s needs. If eligible, it could be anything from low rate care to high rate care and high rate mobility.
