If you are declined is it just a letter? Or do you get a text as well saying you’ve been declined?

just wondering if anyone could shed any light?

we are 18 weeks and 1 day. I know we’re with the DM so either awaiting a back payment, a text or a letter. Or nothing 😂😂 seems everyone gets something different.

I think decline is just a letter x

Since I've be told up to 25 weeks, I'm convinced it's going to be all of that plus more and end up still a decline. Can't believe how many weeks in total we are made to wait, it really won't be many weeks off a year 😳

If I have to wait the full 25 weeks it will be 45 weeks since I first put my application in xx

KenAdam · 28/08/2024 22:17

I have no clue what evidence to send. I’ve sent in her ASC pathway acceptance letter and a confirmation email of her being placed on a waitlist for counselling with a charity in the area. She is very academically able so has not got an EHCP.

Disgusting length of time to wait. Whole thing needs an overhaul or they need to employ more bloody people!

I have to agree.
In the last 17 years I've dealt with dla and I've never waited this long for a desision.
The longest I wait before was only 6 weeks 2 years ago.
8 years ago a claim wad dealt with within 4 weeks that really surprised me.
Now I've done a claim for one of my youngest and we are on week 9. So still away to go.

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 28/08/2024 22:37

I agree, and it's not as though you are guaranteed to be successful, could wait all this time for it to be declined. It's just additional stress we all don't need. And if you get declined on your MR how long are you waiting for a tribunal?? It'll be well into next year x

I thought this earlier I'm on 15 weeks this week since scan date and even on that if my sons claim is declined if I fight it it won't be looked at till new year at least

Yeah same here, it's absolutely crazy, basically every day this year has been will we hear this week, today ect 🫣 But trying to stay positive and hope its not the full 25 weeks for us all and that's just something they are using to stop us calling 🤞
But you would of thought in 2024 there would be online applications options, an account where we could check our progress, add information ect 🫤

Yes definitely! I don't understand why it's not done online. It would free up so much of their time on the phone x

HangryLimeBeaker · 29/08/2024 09:51

17+2 today, have a feeling i won't hear until around 18+ weeks 🤔

Oh no lovely I'm so sorry to hear. What evidence did you send? Are you going to push for an MR? xx

My daughter is 15 and already gets HRC & LM but she's recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and POTS so I did a COC for HRM. She's waiting to see a rheumatologist but the wait is 9 months, I sent the referral letter in and wrote how she is when she's flaring, which is must of the time because she's currently untreated and she can't get out of bed some days or put on her own clothes etc. The reason I was given for declining is because she can walk some of the time. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Definitely going for MR.

Busymumofthreexo · 29/08/2024 10:18

First time posting long time watching. Scan date 03/05 will be 17 weeks tomorrow, worried haven't given enough evidence. Good luck to everyone still waiting 🤞

I am sorry to hear this! Seems like declines are on the rise. Please do an MR and gather evidence in the meantime. My COC was refused on basis that doesn’t even correlate on the evidence. My 3 year old even has an ECHP and attends special school. They stated he only runs away if he is not supervised! What a joke! I’ve submitted my MR and have consultants, OT, SALT and Ed psychologists on my side. Anyways enough of my rant good luck on the appeal! X

Honestly think the only way to get HRM is through tribunal, which is horrendous, why have the check list that alot of people have evidence for then never award the kids who clearly deserve it, I'm currently on week 12 of COC for my 3 year old to get mobility as he already gets HRC, honestly it's a joke

Every day If you want, I phone up after sending in evidence to makesure it's on system as I always send it special delivery and have been caught out a few times when things haven't gone on the system and had to re send, I phoned every other day when I receached 15 weeks u till I got awarded at week 16 plus 1 back in may, currently on COC so when it gets closer to beginning of June dates I will phone to keep checking

HangryLimeBeaker · 29/08/2024 10:35

this is my first time applying for dla however as a sen mum i do have friends who are in similar boat and in the facebook groups now i use it. it seems that for hrm you have to specifically say you're going for a certain thing (i.e smi, vuw) and you need evidence to document the flow chart. i'm sure someone else can help you more with it all but fingers crossed for you! so your claim is still valid but coc was declined? xx
