I made a coc on 16th June to have disabled child element backdated and am still waiting. Had one message in my journal to say it had been sent to a decision maker n 16th July but nothing else. Anyone else still waiting?

I am waiting too. Updated 14 June, sent to dm 12 July. Still nothing. Giving it another week then going to make a complaint.

worriedstar · 01/08/2024 18:51

updated 29th May, sent to dm 3rd June...taking forever

happyhemsby · 01/08/2024 21:40

Don't understand why it's taking so long the elements been added to my claim just waiting for the decision maker to sort backpay. Ridiculous

It took about 4 months for me. In the end I left a msg asking for an update because I needed the money to buy my son a specialist car seat. Money came through next day!

SENtwinmum · 02/08/2024 15:47

I've been in this position before, I wrote on my journal asking how I can make a complaint... I had someone ring me and sort it all within the hour 🙃

I am waiting , I have been getting MRC since Nov 2023 and didn't know about this so got the disabled child element from May but now my son gets HRC so I'm waiting for them to change it to the higher rate.

worriedstar · 04/08/2024 11:02

they are really quick to claim back overpayments though!

Mamma4aws · 09/08/2024 11:37

Son got awarded mrc waiting for back pay. It went to a DM on the 6th August. They said I will have a decision by the 18th. Child and carer element been added.

Mamma4aws · 09/08/2024 11:38

I did have to call to chase this up. They didn’t answer my journal for three days. Son was awarded on the 30th he was verified on the 31st and so was I as an carer. I mention back pay and no reply. So I rang them and they sent to. Case worker who then sent to a dm.

happyhemsby · 09/08/2024 11:51

So had the letter in my journal yesterday acknowledging the change in circumstances. Just waiting on the letter now to say how much backpay is 🙄 so long

How long have you been waiting? I know it’s so long! The DLa wait was long enough. Just this last hurdle. Ever so grateful though, this money will really help my son with the things he needs

ZingyFox · 28/09/2024 15:27

Mine was sent to dm 30july and am still waiting wrote on my journal to be told they don’t have a time scale just have to wait basically there a joke

Tonichatt2288 · 07/11/2024 17:23

Any update on how long anyone's took x they accepted coc on 29th October and added disabled child element from the date he got dla but nothing about backdating just said its with a decision maker x

Cocopops22 · 02/12/2024 11:49

@Tonichatt2288 im waiting for mine, my son was awarded mid rate and then it changed to high rate. I know from my eldest son, and when my youngest got mid rate, that I had to complain to UC and then it was sorted! I’ve just added a note to my journal saying can I chase the progress please as mine has been with a decision maker since 11 November to change from lower disabled element to higher. I’m going to wait for response and then if they say “no time frame” I’m going to make a complaint. They deal with it straight away when you complain which is a shame really because we wait months to get DLA then have to chase UC. You can complain through journal or online on DWP website or on the phone xx
