Ritalin help please ds drinking more since started on it............

My son was on equasym which didnt agree with him, he's since changed to ritalin which is more agreeable, ive noticed he's drinking a lot more, has anyone else noticed this with their dc or is it unique to us? Will ring his London doc tomorrow as well, hes been on hols so wasnt able to reach him last week....

Lottie, we have not had this problem with meds (never tried ritalin although they are all versions of methylphenidate)- though sometimes (concerta) the opposite of not drinking enough is problematic. However Ds used to drink like a fish before we put him on fishoils (5 years ago and long before meds) so I just wondered if that might help. I hope you can get advice from doctor.

Thankyou Magso. My ds went to one of my "crafty " friends and she has a house full of glue glitter etc and made me my birthday card, and my sister has given me the new Delia book.... my other sister is supposed to be giving me the A2A soundtrack but it aint arrived yet!

Another bump as London Doc hasnt got back to me! anyone else got any ideas??

Hi, we had the opposite with our daughter. She stopped eating and drinking anything, and it got so bad the Consultant took her off Ritalin. I hope you get everything sorted.

Have spoken to the doc.bless him he rang before 9am this morning he doesnt think the drinking is linked to the ritalin but we are going to see if ds has lost any weight when we go next week and go from there............
