DLA renewal letter question

So, my son gets DLA, his original claim was accepted and payable for 2 years, due to expire June 24.

I filled in the renewal form in March, sent it off etc. after I sent the form he received a positive diagnosis for Autism which we'd been waiting for, which added to his diagnosis of ADHD. I sent the report onto DWP and asked them to sort of add it to the info I'd already submitted.

Today I've had 2 letters, same date different envelope.

1 says - thanks for submitting extra information we are considering your claim and we'll get back to you.

The 2nd says "thanks for asking us to consider your claim and the new information" or something like that, you are entitled to DLA from April 24 to Jan 26.

When you renew and get a positive outcome is it normal for the letter to read as if you've submitted an appeal when you haven't? Maybe it's the fact I've submitted a 2nd piece of medical information? Automatically generated letters are very unclear.

I've got no idea what payment to expect as there's an amount they're paying because we now are getting bottom rate mobility that we didn't get before, but no idea when the proper new DLA payments will begin.

So confused. Any help appreciated especially if you've successfully renewed and the wording of the letter sounds familiar.

Thanks
