I threatened judicial review (10 days ago) in an email to the director of children's services, as my ds has been unable to attend his school and has had no alternative provision provided (its now been 7 month's)... I've had no reply. When do I follow through with it??

Is DS compulsory school age?

You will need a pre-action letter. You can start to look for someone to do that now. SOSSEN can help, but the wait is long, so you may want to look elsewhere.

Yes ds is 10. Can I do the pre-action letter myself? I do not want to be forking out at this point, I will if I have no choice.

Not unless you know what you are doing.

If money is an issue, SOSSEN’s PAP project is free. Also check if you are eligible for legal aid. JR itself would be in DS’s name so he can be eligible himself, but the pre-action letter is in your name so you will only be eligible for legal aid if you yourself are eligible.

Does DS have an EHCP?

Yes he does, I pm'd you before I am sure. I going through appeal for both dc's.

I will have a look at SOSSEN. I will have a look into the cost's to go elsewhere, and also what should be in the letter. I have had no response to my email, and in general the LA don't care that they should be providing alternative provision.

I think I have figured out which username you PM’ed me with. Other than SOSSEN, Coram is normally the cheapest.
