6yo DS not hugely into toys. Just wondered was anyone else's autistic child similar?

He likes tv
Likes books sometimes
Likes being outdoors in the garden or at playground
Like pottering around helping me dry dishes etc

I dunno why he doesn't do much lol. We have plenty toys as have a neurotypical DS age 3 so there's opportunities to play he just doesn't lol. It's either tv or garden after school

Weekends some tv and then I take him swimming which he loves and try to do trips out etc so playground or soft play etc

But still not really into toys at home

Anyone else kid the same? He's 6 and in year 1

In the garden he's busy as we have slide seesaw and trampoline and he loves watering the plants

My son is like this. Never really been into toys. He is getting a bit better, nearly 7. Christmas and birthdays are so hard. I buy him things he likes on tv or in real life. Lots of cars and trailers etc. No advice but I know how it feels.

Other than Lego and trains one of mine didn’t/doesn’t really play with toys. He much prefers playing in the garden, mini indoor trampoline, sensory equipment type things.

@user1984455 Xmas just gone I bought sensory/autistic aimed toys but even then he wasn't that fussed. So for his bday in March I got him new trainers which he liked and think I'll do the same again for Xmas. I do sometimes do a big day trip for his bday and just a small present but u can't really do that at Xmas so it is hard
