Carers allowance questions

Hi there
My son has been awarded MRC on DLA - I’ve been on adoption leave (with another child) and I’m returning to work on 12 hours
Some questions
Can I Receive carers allowance whilst on adoption leave and receiving statutory adoption pay?
As I mentioned I’m returning to work soon for 12 hours a week (on minimum wage) but one of my first weeks I have to do 24 hours but everything else will then be 12 hours - how would this effect my claim for carers allowance

In the weeks you have earnings of 24hrs at NMW you won’t be eligible for carer’s allowance.

If I remember correctly, statutory adoption pay isn’t an overlapping benefit, but double check that by giving them a call.
