Hi, I have a random question, I've seen it mentioned a few times previously but I'm not certain, so I've had 2 letters since scan date 8/2 I've noticed her ref number on the letter looks like a NINO AA123456X - is it actually her NINO number? She's 3yrs old.
Also is anyone from or near the North East?🙃

Yes, it's the NINO.

Hey, I’ve heard carers allowance only backdate 3 months worth, is this true, or do they backdate from when/if your child gets awarded? So confusing!

I was backdated 18 weeks worth of carers allowance, they are a lot quicker when you apply compared to uc and dla, mine took 6 days

Fluffs95 · 06/05/2024 12:06

Did you have special circumstances / financial difficulties etc though? As that’s very quick otherwise! xx

Yeah. Said financial difficulties. 2 days later I got a decision X

@mumofboyngirl did your original form say financial or did you make that change? Scan date 06/02 here 👋

Myadaggon · 06/05/2024 19:09

@Waiting1901 oh have they, they mentioned they were calling the school? I havnt heard anything about them calling consultants or school or asking for evidence even though I have sent them. All I have had from them is thay a decision hasn't been made or they can't find my claim on the system 😂. I hope you hear this week, and all good news for you🤞

The form online is so quick and easy to fill in and they was really quick, I got my back pay and my first weeks carers allowance 6 days after applying then it carried on weekly, it does ask you when your filling it out if your want money to be paid weekly or every 4 weeks. You will receive the money In your bank before the letter arrives

I didn’t need to make any change lovely. Just rang up, told them I was having financial difficulty, they prioritised it, 1 hr later it was sent to a decision maker and 2 days later I was awarded X

Was this for a new claim? I'm self employed on maternity leave so working part time so we're just about getting by (luckily my sister is bailing me out). I had to use what savings I had during the end of pregnancy due to complications. Universal credit is low due to number of children and born after 2017. I'm wondering if I could get help sooner?

UmElise · 06/05/2024 22:57

Hi mamas and dads. I was reading through the threads, catching up. I haven’t been on here for a while. Iam doing mandatory consideration, still waiting to hear back. Congrats to everyone who’s been awarded and those who are waiting hopefully you will hear back soon and your children will get the awards they deserve xx

UmElise · 06/05/2024 22:58

Mummyof5kiddos · 07/05/2024 01:01

can a link be put on here for the next thread?

Yeah. New claim. Ring them up, say you need to speak to customer service centre as you’re having financial difficulties and need your claim prioritised. They’ll put you through to them, and they’re basically the management team. Explain to them your situation and hopefully you should get prioritised X
