Is there a difference

Some specialist settings will say they cater for ASC and moderate learning difficulties or SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. Is there a difference between academic or educational moderate learning difficulties and general moderate learning difficulties?

Academic or educational moderate learning difficulties could mean dyslexia, dyscalculia or perhaps anxiety holding the child back.
General moderate learning difficulties could mean a global delay in all areas.

There’s specific learning difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia and general learning difficulties. The latter general affects more areas.

Frustratingly, many schools/LAs/professionals use learning difficulties instead of learning disability when they actually mean there is an intellectual disability.
