I was grated DLA for my DS2 6 months ago the award runs till september. I've just been sent the renewal pack, how soon do I have to send it in. I've only just recovered from doing the last form!

The award runs out in September so you'll have to have your new claim on their desk well in advance of that to ensure payments continue after expiry. It's advisable to have it in a good couple of months before that date because it can take that long for them to reassess the claim.

Personally, I'd be starting it now. I do mine a little bit each day and find it easier that way. I've found it best to do write the claim in Word and send the whole document as an addendum to the form - that way you're not restricted by the box sizes so you can write as much as is relevant in each section.

Good luck.

I received 2 in february, one for each child (they were awarded different eyars, dates just bad luck!). have sent one back a week ago, one to do. if you leave too long they'll not ahve it done in time but they are supposed to pay from date of claim so you should get it back.

The last renewal form I did was processed within about 2 or 3 weeks but I really wouldn't leave it that late. I think you're supposed to allow at least a couple of months for it to be be processed.

Good luck.
