EHCP process-splitting my ASD twins up

My girls are non verbal and on the ASD pathway. We are currently going through the process of EHCP for twin 1, delaying twin 2 because 'apparently' they will have a better chance of success in being accepted. Even to the point that my twins will be split to different schools potentially. We reeeally don't like this idea. Has anyone have any insights as to if this is even typical or right? Any recommendations? TIA.

You can request an EHCNA for DT2 if you want, you don’t have to wait. Personally, I wouldn’t wait. With an EHCP there are limited reasons for LA can refuse to name your preferred school, so you can try to keep DTs together if that is what is preferred. However, multiples with SEN can end up in different schools out of necessity sometimes.

Right okay I really appreciate your time. I will ask about that tomorrow.

You can make the EHCNA request yourself. On their website IPSEA has a model letter you can use.
