Son has interview at college

Hi,
My son has a statement at school and gets 20 hours of help a week. He has an interview next week for college and the letter states that if they are under 19 years of age they are welcome to bring along a parent/guardian. Would you go along with him? Also, do colleges do a similar kind of thing to a SPN? Would he get any kind of extra help at college?

ds (nt) went for his. I phoned up as I wasn't sure about something and was told I could go with him and if there was a "problem" I could go in with him.
(I didn't need to go with him)
