Socks and trousers

Hello,

DS2 started school in September and its become apparent that he's neurodivergent, and has some sensory processing issues. He also has a hearing loss but that's for another day.

At the start of term he was coping with his school trousers but as he's become progressively more disregulated he can't cope. The alternative would be wearing his PE joggers but he can't get his head around wearing those on non PE days. I've been googling but wondered if anyone had any recommendations of charcoal school trousers that feel like joggers? It's the fabric and the waistband that's scratchy.

And socks, now I feel like I need to preface this with it's not the seams as all questions about socks for little ones with autism seem to be about seams. He happily wears his school socks - M&S ultra comfort socks. In grey. But no others. He was fine at nursery because his feet were smaller and little children socks were squishy, but he's had a massive growth spurt and they're all thinner cotton and hurt his feet. I've looked on the M& S website but can only find the ultra comfort socks in grey which he won't wear on the weekend because "they're for school". I've emailed M&S in case I'm missing anything.on the website.

Does anyone have any suggestions please? we broke up for the holiday yesterday and I was thinking if I could solve these issues then it might reduce morning meltdowns a bit. Which in turn may make getting in slightly more peaceful for all of us!

Thanks

Would DS wear non-PE joggers? Maybe in the same colour.
Or I don’t know whether they make boys’ jersey school trousers, but if they do they are softer/stretchier than traditional school trousers.

They do those socks in white here.

My DD also hates school trousers (and tights/knee-high socks which rules out skirts/dresses in the winter!). She wears jogging bottoms in charcoal grey, which are pretty much the exact same colour as school trousers. (Sainsbury's and H&M do them). They're obviously jogging bottoms, but not so different that she really stands out. The first day we suggested jogging bottoms, she refused (as we only had her black PE ones), but she's fine with the grey ones.

She also wears the bamboo socks from the sockshop, which come in lots of colours. Seamless and also super soft.
