Hello everyone

My daughter is 7yo and on spectrum with speech development difficulties

I was looking to find a Christmas present which would be fun for her and help her to develop her speech, if anyone has any ideas would be greatly appreciated

xx

You don't mention how developed her speech is, so I hope this isn't too far off the mark.

There are loads of different ideas for games here - I've used a lot of them with my DS who has just turned 6. He is a brilliant reader and has clear speech, but can struggle with creativity and self-expression. Finding ways to play with language has been really fun for both of us and his confidence has improved so much in the last year.

He particularly enjoys word play and rhyming. He loves flashcards (we have all the Alain Gree ones), story cards (Green Board Games Company), magnetic letters, bananagrams (the junior version - My First? - starting with mini games).

A couple of brilliant books - both Nick Sharratt:

Any of the You Choose series, which is fab for storytelling using the pictures
Ketchup on Your Cornflakes?

I hope there's something useful here!xx

Would she enjoy a child friendly camera? You can get some quite easy to use (and hard to break) ones, she could make little videos/act out little plays and watch them back?
