My son is 3, on the pathway for asd but where I live it is a 3yr wait and I can’t self fund. GP shares my concerns, he has less than 10 safe foods, won’t accept any supplements (tried them all) I found out today dietician won’t accept his referral without a confirmed ASD diagnosis. I don’t know where to turn next apart from making a complaint. Any ideas?

You could request a referral out of area.

For the dietician?

Yes, either to a dietetic service or to an eating disorder service (not all cover ARFID but some do and there are some specialist ARFID services). In the meantime, continue to offer safe foods.

We were told to look at the Birmingham Food Refusal Service. You have my sympathy though. DD has ARFID and it seems to affect every aspect of our lives Flowers
