Nappy Recommendations for 5yo

Hi everyone, hoping for your sage advice as I am getting nowhere with referrals to incontinence and nappy service.

My child has outgrown the pampers size 8 nappies and we are therefore at the end of the road for supermarket options. What brand and size do you recommend for a sturdy 5 year old (around 20kg currently wearing 5-6 clothing for reference)?

I have tried the Attends Slip Regular 9 XS which was too big. The Libero 7 was about the same size as the pampers 8. I'm really struggling to work out sizing!

Thank you in advance

In what way are the Attends XS too big?

If it is the waist on the Attends XS that is too big, I suspect the Tesco’s junior nappies will be too big too because the waist size is the same. Tena’s XXS has a slightly narrower waist range at 40-60cm compared to 40-70cm. But, Libero size 7 is 40-65cm, I think, so Tena’s XXS may be too small.

Is DS under the continence service?

Thank you both for your replies!

We are still on the waiting list for the continence and nappy service, i'm tearing my hair out!

The waist on the Attends wasn't too big, but the nappy bulk itself was so huge it was hanging down the legs and also made it difficult to get trousers on!

If they would work for DC, you could also try pants/pull ups rather than nappies/slips.

Unfortunately the special school doesn't accept pull-ups :(

If you can’t find a nappy/slip that fits correctly but can find a pull up/pants the SS will have to make a reasonable adjustment.

Hi there about 2 months ago I was in the same boat I've found 3 nappies that fit they are the tena slip xs
Abena Xs slip
I'd junior slip

I did ask the inconstance team and they told me they don't supply nappies only liners so I emailed loads of inconstance websites with her measurements and found the ones listed all work

These are what I'm using for my little one after she grew out of size 8

Hope this helps 🙂

@kungfupidge just so you know, continence services shouldn’t have blanket policies like this and you can challenge it. Cerebra has a model letter you can use if the service has a blanket policy that results in suitable products (for many liners aren’t suitable) not being provided.

Wow that's great I didn't know that thankyou for the info they were not helpful at all really I asked them where I could find bigger nappies what brands etc and she just said Google it so yes not very helpful I will look into cerebra thankyou 😊
