Does anyone know why they ask you for exact holidays dates in dla application? I've declared them I'm just curious as to why this has anything to do with the application?

I think it's because you can't be out of the country for more than 4 weeks and get a claim for that period... I may be wrong. I think it's like the question they ask about hospital stays.

DWP ask about time spent abroad, not just holidays, to check eligibility to claim e.g. for the past presence test.
