My 3 year old school's nursery have raised issues with me and I have a doctors appointment to be referred to camhs. I am working with the school to help my child but they have said they are applying for funding, does that now mean I get priority for the school to attend there? I would love for my child to go there as they have been amazing so far. It will be my first choice.

In relation to the referral to CAMHS, what happens next varies area to area, but there is likely to be a wait wherever you are.

If it is early years inclusion funding the school is applying for, it doesn’t result in priority for admission to primary school.

Some schools have an exceptional social and medical need criteria as part of their admissions arrangements, but that isn’t to do with funding and the bar is high. You would need evidence from a professional only that school can meet DC’s needs.

EHCP admissions are done separately from the normal admissions process and having a school named in an EHCP means pupils are admitted even if they wouldn’t otherwise be eligible for a place if they didn’t have the EHCP.

Thank you so much I will book a further meeting to find out more details, obviously the support for my child now is the most important thing but I am so impressed with the school i would love my child to attend.
