Hi does anyone know how long it's taking for new DLA claims. My scan date was 25/08, I on the phone I was told it would take 19 weeks, but had a letter to say 15 weeks. Just wondering of anyone else had the same?

The majority of the claims I have supported recently have taken between 16-19 weeks. A couple have been quicker and one has taken longer.

My daughter's took 16 weeks. I rang them quite a few times aswell, there is a long backlog of claims i was told.

Hi, the date they received mine was 21/07 and I still haven't had a decision yet!

The date they received mine was 8/08 and was told firstly 15 weeks, then again on the phone 18/19 weeks and now its 20 weeks. I've not heard anything yet from mine either.

im really hoping to hear something soon. It there anyone with the same scan date as me?

My scan date was 08/08, my little one had a decision Monday 11th December. Was told on phone beginning of August scan dates were been looked at. So hopefully not long left for people to get their decisions. Good luck everyone x

Hi I’m wondering if I can get some advice. My daughter was awarded this August, it was a day after her 16th birthday. Her award runs until a day before 17th birthday. However, I know she’ll need to move to PIP. I haven’t received an appointee letter yet? Or a PIP invite, has anyone else had this experience of a child being awarded after 16th birthday? X

It’s 20 weeks apparently. Mine was scanned on 3/11/23 so I’ll be waiting ages!

Hi OP, my sons scan date 8 weeks after yours. I spoke to the dla last week and the lady told me it could be another 8 to 10 weeks for mine to be sorted, so this takes us to the beginning of March so id think yours would be sorted very soon. Thankfully they received the form within the 6 weeks alloted time so I won't lose those 6 weeks. I'm hating how long it's taking.
