A Splint question?

DS2 (5) has broken his second set of splints in 4 weeks.
He has DAFOS for mild CP, he walks well & has been trying to run a bit but he has been falling an awful lot lately.
He has snapped his second set of DAFO's in the same place -just above the ankle, but on the outside.
He says he doesn't know how he did it (but communication isn't a strong point) but has said he keeps falling & has the bruises!
I'm going to ring the physio & orthotics (again) tomorrow, but wondered if anyone has had anything similar & if its a sign that he needs something a bit more supportive?
Or is he just very clumsy?
Thanks
Max

i have never heard of them breaking. but then dd has affos now. I would have a word with the phisio as maybe they need to look at them again now that he is running.

Thanks 2shoes, his run is more of a wobbly fast walk but I think he's putting too much strain on the splints, perhaps they need to be a little higher up his leg.

maybe affos.
don't you just love all the designs
well done to your ds.

ds1 has AFOs and dd1 has DAFOs and they have never broken a set. could it be that the plastic is faulty?

Maybe its a dodgey batch, he was re-moulded & given a brand new pair after the last pair snapped.
Perhaps NHS are cost cutting, but they have snapped in the same place on the same leg.
