Scaling the heights...?

DS2 is 4 next month and climbs everything and is always upside down etc. Yesterday while stupidly braving soft play he climbed outside the equipment onto the roof with the light fittings in an industrial unit. V high but is surprisingly competant. Will climb anything he can. This is a regular occurance. Getting closer to an ASD dx is this linked in anyway. Does anyone have any similar experiences. Tried to google but wasn't sure what to type in. Ta

lol-sorry i know it wasn't meant to be funny but it made me smile as it reminds me of my ds alot! He loves to climb too, i don't think he likes the being high as such it's just he doesn't know the limits and has no fear.
He stands on the armes of the sofa and chairs at my house and at parents. Parents not so safe as they have slippy leather furniture and i go mad at him but he just laughs and carries it on like a game, until i manage to get him doing something else. Don't know if it's linked with asd though, sorry.

A panic broke out amongst other parents and the staff but I was relieved it didn't involve the bashing of another child (that happened later)! It was a first for the play centre. In the end he climbed down as if it were nothing. Monkeypie it was funny and unbelievable all at the same time. I have long given up on stopping him on the sofa and the staircase in the house.

I am lucky in that we live in a bungalow so no stairs to do acrobats on. I do have to make sure there are no ladders around for him to climb though, in the garden/garage. For some strange reason now i think of it when we go to play centre he stays on lower level always

ds1 was like that (aspergers) Climbed up everything with no sense of danger. He went 30 feet up a crumbling cliff once!

Glad it is not just my DS at Bristol Zoo he climbed up fake rocks caught just before he started bothering the penguins! We saw OT and she said next session we will try out swings and stuff so maybe that ties in but that isn't until June. What is visual stimming PipinJo? Other than acting like he is deaf at times I don't think he has any problems with ears. Until then I think we will steer clear of cliffs. I am phobic about edges so we are not a good combination.
