I do not know about downs, as I thought that was the nuchal scan (where they look at the neck and that gives an indication of downs). Did they not tell you what it all means, I really feel for you umm, is it worth ringing back and asking the doc to clarify what it means, as it is too stressful not to know!

they didnt tell me anything, my scan was actually on friday, i posted on another forum.

i think the growth is like a soft spot for downs, btu i am not sure.

I googled it and it didn't mention downs at all. It seems to be related to a condition called hydronephrosis. I am not sure exactly what this is but it involves fluid on the kidneys. The info I read did suggest that the majority of prenatal cases resolve themselves by birth or within the first year.

my daughter had renal dilation but was put on antibiotics every day and it resolved after a few months.
we have never had any problems with this.

good luck

ahh thank you so much, it sjus a combination of growth prob lems and the kidneys is what scaring me...and my stupid pregnancy book says kidney problems and growth problems is a sign for downs, or some other retardation.

i just want to know, so i can be ready. it so strange, but i love my unborn baby unconditionally and i just want to know bubs is going to be ok.

I did a bit more research and it suggested that while some babies with downs do have this condition so do plenty of other babies so it is not seen as a good marker for downs.
