SALT - need advice

I have decided to get private SALT for my ds.

My dilemma is this:

I have a friend who is a SALT, even though she hasn't been working in the field for over eight years. She has offered to see ds and do an assessment or possibly more. She is a SAHM so would have time (within reason).

Then I have contacted a private SALT who is happy to see ds and who has lots of experience, including with bilingual children. Obviously she would charge me.

I kind of feel uneasy about "using" the friend, and feel that in a way it might be easier to focus on ds's needs with somebody whom I know purely on a professional basis. On the other hand my friend is adamant that she is happy to do it. So which one should I go for?

My gut reaction would be to go for using both - so that you get two expert opinions. so are covering all bases.

That seems a good idea.
