i have 4 ds. one of them diagnosed with adhd due to impulsiveness. he has always had issues with anger and rage so wasn’t surprised when school suggested adhd however he is very academic and is able to wait for something that he has interest in. Ds3 9 this year has changed a lot. he was always the one bent over to make peace in the family while the others messed things up and clearly NDbut he this year became more impulsive/angry and is not able to wait for anything. If it means he has to wait a minute for an ice cream, he would rather walk away.
he can still be a lovely boy and very caring but i’m spending a lot of time worrying if he will end up having to be diagnosed with adhd as won’t cope in school. He had very rocky year in school and everyone was shocked in the change in his behaviour compared to previous years. He had lots of issues with his teacher things didn’t improve much when she left. He says he hates school soo i suggested teachers maybe he is struggling academically but apparently he is not.
I am wondering if this could be a stage in his development and maybe affected by sibling behaviour and copies that and i just need to try and give him tools to be more patient or try and get prepared for going through another assessment.

Whether DS has ADHD or not, it sounds like he would benefit from further assessment and support.

Have you spoken to the SENCO at school?
