Does anyone have a rough a idea of the timescale for Careers allowance applications?

Also the careers element and disabled child element on UC? I know mine was sent to a DM 2 weeks ago

@Lolli0511 did you have any progress with the disabled child backdate? mines been a week and not heard anything

Hi. Have you heard anything since ? If yes how long roughly was you waiting regarding UC carers element? Mine only got send to decision maker on the 8th so just curious. Thanks

@Random98 how long the backdating of UC’s carer element takes is how long is a piece of string, unfortunately.

Update, I got the decision today that special circumstances apply for late notify and it will be backdated from the date of change which the date of change is march 2022 but my work coach has only backdated it from January 2023? Confused

You can challenge the decision.

Thanks @KeepGoingThomas I explained in my journal that decision maker states it should be backdated from date of change under special circumstances which was 21/03/2022 and asked why he has only backdated it from January-November 2023 , I also called the number on the top of my decision letter and spoke to a lady who said it should of been backdated from the date my partners pip got awarded march 2022 and they aren’t sure as to why he hasn’t , they wrote a message in my journal stating they have asked my case worker or his colleagues to answer my questions and they should get back to me by tomorrow before 6pm , I guess time will tell.

Hi i dont know if im posting in the right place but hoping someone can help, ive been made aware im missing out on disabled child element on my UC. Ive been claiming dla for my son since 2021 (middle rate) when i started claiming this i contacted UC to amend my claim and make sure i was on the right benefits, this is when i was told to claim carers allowance and carers element on my UC but wasnt informed of the extra element i was entitled to at my appointment, i have now informed them off this and its been sent to a DM. Has anyone experienced anything similar and can share there outcome? Will i be backdated this money?

The disabled child element can be backdated. If UC refuse, you should challenge their decision.
