Does anyone else have a DC who has no awareness of danger and could easily win a gold medal for sprinting, they can out run most people?

If you haven’t already got a blue badge, apply for one as that can help. How old is DC? Do you use reins/SN buggy/wheelchair?

We have reigns for him. A Blue badge is a good idea thanks

I try to give my son opportunity to run as he really enjoys it and helps him to be calmer at home.

Woods are best for us as it is generally one direction. Open spaces are harder because he has a much lower centre of gravity than me and can change direction much more quickly than I can.

His big brother is a great help. Reins / tether are not that helpful. If DS2 is complying he holds hands nicely, if he’s not then the reins / tether are just another thing to wrestle with.

Well reins are one way of keeping a DC safe.

Thank you

We use an AirTag on my son. There's an option on the find my airtag section to make it ring. He knows when it rings, that's when he comes running back to me.

That sounds like a good idea

We pop it on a watch strap!

My eldest needed reins until the age of 4.5. A year on and it's rare that he just bolts, and usually only in familiar areas where he knows the boundaries where he has to stop. Like @SachiLars we try to build safe running opportunities into his day as he loves it and he does need to get the energy out.
