I really like my garden changed for DC both who have Autism and are non verbal. Garden fence is about to come down as it's very old. Has anyone been able to do garden with a grant with family fund or any other charity?

Family Fund do a grant up to £800, you need to provide quotes and if it's going to cost more than that you need to confirm you can make up the shortfall. They also required receipts or invoices to be emailed to them which you get from the business you employ to do the work. Hope that helps! We had patio laid which cost £2000 and they contributed the £800. As soon as I had the work done I emailed the invoice and receipt and they had actually requested it before we'd even had the work completed so they do check thoroughly but it's a wonderful support!

That said, work can also be done under a Disabled Facilities Grant via the council. This is to make things safe e.g. fencing, patio or AstroTurf, removing dangers for example if a child has pica removing gravel and paving over areas. Definitely worth investigating as you can apply yourself online and be assessed by an OT, or if your child or children have a disability social worker they can support you to apply, too. I hope you get sorted and a safe space for them to be and to play.
