I've name changed for this. I work in a lovely museum but I don't think we are particularly well geared up for children (and adults) with additional needs. I'm trying to put forward ideas of how we could be more accessible and inclusive but I only really have experience with autism with my DS so I'm hoping for some suggestions on what we could put in place/offer which would make our museum more accessible for SN children. I work at a living hands on museum with an emphasis on nature and wildlife

There's a lovely museum in London called the Museum of the Order of Saint John which runs sessions for autistic children (Seacole Sessions). Please do give them a bell for ideas, the lady who organises them, Amie is wonderful. My son recently attended a session on medal making and what particularly helped was a visual story so he knew what to expect before arriving.
