Annoyed waiting for motability car

So after appeal last year we finally got awarded the high rate mobility for my son.

Ordered the motability car last September,was told we get it end of March.
After Christmas was told being built in April so would get in may.
Now just been updated yesterday problems getting the parts for it so now not being built till October!!

I only passed my test October last year so not driven a car since I passed.

we really need this car to get my son to appointments,playscheme etc and particularly for over the summer holidays.

I know there is problems getting new cars but feels like we are being messed around and getting so fed up waiting for this car.

anyone having problems with getting motability cars?

Unfortunately the waits are long for a lot of cars and is quite common. Some have had problems where dealers have given unrealistic times to begin with that are never going to be stuck to.

I was very lucky and my local dealership had two Nissan xtrails in stock, so I ordered one. I picked it up a week later.

you could phone up dealerships you’re able to travel to and see what they have in stock or if they have a cancelled order.

some of the motability fb groups have dealerships who post what they have in stock sometimes.

My husband ordered a new car in April 21. May 22 was told now wasn't making that car any more and had to order a different one. Received the car on Monday the other mobility car was 5 year old.
Think more cars are coming through now so hopefully won't be too long.

There's a problem with nearly all new cars. 2 or 3 friends who have paid for new cars have been waiting nearly a year now.

Hi thanks for all the replies.
So spent all morning today phoning local dealerships and we’ve managed to get a car from the Renault dealership that’s actually in the showroom.
Hopefully if all goes well,we pick it up on Friday!

I ordered a motability car from kia in August, was told 10 weeks, sold my car in October as insurance renewal was high, I was told end of October then end of November then promised the 4th Dec I have rang everyday only to be told tomorrow every time how hard is it to tell you where the car is so frustrating, I have limited mobility so I'm pretty much trapped in my house
