dd1 had her last speech therapy session for the year yesterday and the therapist said how well she thought dd1 has been and is doing. She felt dd1 had made a lot of progress since we started after about 10 or so sessions in total. She was very impressed with her attention and copying of signs and attempts to say words. SHe also remarked how well she was doing with imaginary play - feeding baby, bathing baby etc.... the therapist then said that dh and I were doing a good job - makes me feel very proud of dd1. Also made me feel good as dh and I often wonder if we are doing enough for dd1 iykwim.

She has also made great strides towards walking - she will walk if we hold her hands. SHe is cruising around all the furniture and pulling herself up - especially at the computer desk - she climbs onto the chair and 'types' away at the keyboard..... mmmm not sure who the role model for that is Grin Yesterday I caught her trying to get her baby doll to walk - holding her like we hold dd1... very cute.

DD1 has also turned into the protective big sister - she gets very concerned when dd2 starts to cry - then dd1 puts her arms out to cuddle her... like we do to dd1 when she cries. He likes to 'rock' dd2 in her little chair and to give her lots of kisses and cuddles. She has her moments with me - If i am not paying her enough attention - well she grabs me to get my attention - rather than saying mama but that is another story. Smile

Gosh eidsvold, she's really coming on, isn't she? She's going to be such a fab big sister, clearly. The imaginary play is great, it's such a positive sign of maturing, isn't it? Well done little eidsvold, and well done to her lovely parents :)

That's lovely eidsvold.

We have always said that the best thing we did for DS1 was have DS2 - and now that we have DS3, I am so proud of DS1 for the way he loves his baby brother! So glad you're having the same lovely experience!
