Motability Advance Payment Grant

Hello I was just wondering if anyone’s applied for a Motability AP Grant recently? If so how long did it take from start to finish? And did you get the car you was looking for? I just applied online for a car not a WAV but not sure if I’ll be accepted; I meet the criteria but it’s on a case by case basis. They asked what car I was looking at and I know it goes by needs and not wants but the car I was looking at is definitely a need and not want. I’m also under 25 and not a big deal to pick from the car I was looking at for £200 deposit was removed from the Scheme due to high demand. And the other cars are way extortionate the car I had before (not on scheme) was £0 deposit is now £1000 for a bog standard SEAT.
So I now can’t order a car until I hear back from them and have no car

Grant decisions are taking several, unfortunately. However, grants for first time motability customers (so no current lease to extend) and WAVs are being prioritised.

our experience sounds tough! Waiting for the SASSA Payment Grant can be challenging, but stay hopeful. Hopefully, they'll understand your need for the car you've chosen. Wishing you a speedy and positive resolution!
