Sensory Avoiding profile

My DS7 has had an OT assessment and has a sensory avoiding profile, difficulties with registration and sensory modulation. Can anyone recommend reading materials to gen up on this? Or has anyone got any experience of children with a similar profile? The report is a bit of a saviour for us and has explained a lot, which is great. Does anyone have experience also please of how we can get school to support with the report’s recommendations? Thanks!

Does DC have an EHCP? If you haven’t already speak to the SENCO.

Thanks for that @FloatingBean . No EHCP at the moment, but we’ve applied. And have a meeting with the Senco in a few days.

Is the LA sticking to the statutory EHCP timescales?

Without an EHCP some of the recommendations the school will be able to implement but depending on what the recommendations are the school may not be able to do them all.

Follow up the meeting with an email so you have a paper trail.
