Dla HRC

My daughter is autistic she’s only ever got MRC and LRM everyone I know irl has always said to me she should be on high rate as she’s so challenging, she doesn’t sleep, her care needs are so high.

I asked for advice online but was pretty much told no chance of getting HRC unless I had bags of evidence which I don’t, doctor wasn’t forthcoming with melatonin I was told I would need letters from paediatrician/ sleep clinic, proof that melatonin wasn’t working you name it. Well her renewal came up recently and I was worried about it as she isn’t in school as they said they cannot meet her needs so was worried about evidence and who they can contact. I filled in the forms myself and always have with no help. I sent a copy of her ehcp and that was it. Well today I have a letter to say she’s just been awarded HRC!! (and lrm) so it’s not true that you need mountains of evidence for hrc !! I am so happy for dd! I knew she deserved HRC but never dared to challenge it because I was always put off it. So my advice anyone applying for dla is to fight for the amount you think your child is entitled to don’t listen to other people saying they won’t get it. Dd has been awarded till 2028 after only ever getting really short 2 year awards. Just thought I would give others hope this will help dd so much.

Thank you so much love, I will challenge for my child because his needs are so complex, I do have evidence though and support from professionals because he's super young and his needs are just super difficult.
I followed the instructions in the booklet and sent them the diary of his poor sleep Record, awaiting medication from professionals also for sleep, my son has seizures too which are manageable but you can imagine it's always best to be safe than sorry.
For a renewal is it exactly the same forms as a new claim ? Or different ? Would love tips for renewals if that's OK love x
