Do you work?

I currently work full time but DD isn't attending school and is experiencing extreme anxiety and home life is just awful. I am also caring for disabled DP and my 12 year old DS. I have just been signed off work for a couple of weeks with stress as I cannot do it any more. Everyone wants something from me all the time. My brain is just full and I had to stop before I crack.
I don't think I can go on working full time. Since DD gets DLA there is the option to use 1 day a week of unpaid parental leave which I will discuss with work.
Do you work, and if so what hours/days? If you stopped for caring reasons, what happened? Thank you so much

For many years I didn’t work due to DC’s needs. Last year I starting working part time TTO. It is only possible because it is a flexible job and DSs have all the support in place they need.

Does DD have an EHCP? Is the LA providing alternative education?

Have you had social care assessments? A carer’s assessment for you, an assessment via the disabled children’s team for DD and an assessment for DP for his own needs.

Thanks @FloatingBean
She does have an EHCP - no alternative provision currently as she is sometimes willing to go until school for part of the day (usually 1-3) so I am content with this at the moment.
We haven't had any social care assessments, I think I looked at the referral forms and couldn't face them.

You need to request an early review of DD’s EHCP.

The LA must provide alternative arrangements as well or instead of part time school. 2 hours some days isn’t a suitable, full time education. They must also provide anything specified and quantified in F. Email the Director of Children’s Services requesting provision. If that fails email again threatening Judicial review. Then if that doesn’t work contact SOSSEN for help with a pre-action letter.

You should request social care assessments. Contact have model letters you can use for a carer’s assessment and an assessment for DD.
