Talking to himself

For the past month or so I’ve noticed my son has developed this new behaviour he often whispers to himself all through the day repeating things that are told to him or a complete random conversation with himself but where it gets really extreme is just before bed he will lay and talk under his breath about people and stuff for 1-2 hours before he eventually gets tired and falls asleep. Does this flash as concerning behaviour to you or something that he will likely grow out of, it seems to bring him comfort but I’m not sure how to go about it with him do I just leave him to it?

Is he processing the day perhaps? My dd flaps and seems to have a little story about the day in her own way.

Would drawing his thoughts help? Perhaps an idea to help him process.
