Can't cope anymore

How do you cope when your autistic dd doesn't want to leave the house, get dressed, brush her teeth etc. I've given her no demands for past week and let her stay home and watch her iPad. Today my brother is having a quiet Boxing Day food things at his and she has locked herself in the bedroom and is refusing to come out. Christmas generally has been shit. Not sure how much longer I can go on I feel at end of my tether with it all.

Have you tried different toothbrushes and toothpaste (e.g. non foaming &/or unflavoured)?

Try starting small with leaving the house e.g. standing at the door, then going to the end of the drive, then the end of the street, around the block…

Have you had social care assessments? Does DD have an EHCP and has she had OT, SALT and MH input?

Lastly, counselling for you will help.

This could be me writing this. My daughter has been unwell yes but she could get dressed and wash. Hasn't brushed her teeth in days , has problems there and dreading dentist and she keeps my daughter she needs to, behaviour Haas been really bad, same PJ for 5 days, no wash and her hair is matted. I'm exhausted.

@Blueflag22 does DD see the special care community dental team? If not ask for a referral.
